Tips for Staying Motivated and Living Your Dream

I recently was reading an article by Dr. Robert Anthony about this very issue. The way he put it was that the tide can't come in unless we've first allowed it to go out. Our dreams cannot manifest unless we release them. In other words, we must learn to trust the process in order to live our dreams.

But what, exactly, does that look like? Maybe it's different for everyone. For me, it means deciding what I want based upon my personal values, then putting that dream out to the Universe. After that, I take inspired action, meaning, I request wisdom and divine guidance, then follow the path that slowly, step-by-step reveals itself to me.

It also means that when I cannot see the How, When, Where answers, I choose to trust the process. But how does one stay motivated during this process? When there seems to be nothing but vagueness, chaos, closed doors? When it feels like all one's hard work and determination seem to result in nothing?

One way to demonstrate this trust and remain motivated is by continuing to remain plugged into Divine Source on a daily basis. Whether you commune with your Higher Self, God, the Universe, or any other name for this Source, it's okay to be honest and express your feelings of discouragement, rebellion, or apathy. Then ask specifically for help not only with attaining your dreams but with releasing the negative energy that is bringing you down.

Another way to maintain your motivation is to notice what's going right and take a moment to be thankful for that. It can be so easy to notice what is still missing and overlook the incredible progress you have already made. So, notice what you're doing right and the progress you've made, and continue to take inspired action. Incidently, inpsired action may well include such things as reading inspirational and motivational literature, taking courses that get your energy pumped up again, spending time with positive, inspiring people, or even taking a well-deserved break.

Utilize various techniques to release your limiting beliefs, unhelpful behaviors, and emotional blocks. For example, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), The Sedona Method, hypnotherapy, and acupuncture can be exceedingly effective for clearing your body and mind of these energy drainers. Ask yourself what beliefs, blocks, and behaviors are you willing to release in order to live your dreams? This can refuel tired motivation.

Trusting the process is similar to love in that it sometimes is more a choice than a feeling. What if this is also true of one's sense of motivation? If you don't currently feel motivated, can you choose to act motivated nevertheless? What is one thing that you do when you feel motivated? Make the choice to do that when your motivation factor is low and take note of the results.

Finally, an employer I once had was fond of saying, "A change is as good as a rest." Maybe that's all you need to refuel your motivation so you can live your dreams.

How to Feel More Motivated: Get Things Done!

If I have a bunch of things to do during the day, all those tasks get jumbled around in my head and I don't know where to start. Then the feeling of being overwhelmed comes along and it gets hard to even do anything at all. That's why it's so important to keep in mind where you want to go so you keep your goals on track. I've put together some tips to help you get your day organized and get you excited to accomplish your goals.

-The first thing that helps me is to make a list of what I want to get done that day. I always have to make this list or nothing will happen. So write down everything that you want to get done that day. Start with the things you'd like to get done first. Then write out everything and plan your day. Write your list in the morning or even better; get that list done the night before.

-Here's a great way to get you motivated: have some awesome quotes and affirmations handy that get you pumped. A great way to do this is to have a poster board with everything on it that motivates you. Here are some examples of what is on my board:

I inspire people.

I work from anywhere in the world.

What you think is what you get.

"Those who follow the part of themselves that is great will become great. Those that follow the part that is small, will become small." -Mencius

-Make a "Passion To-Do List" that has everything on it that you're passionate about and make sure you do at least one thing from it a day. It's important to have a way to release so your mind is clear and you can focus. When you're focused you will get a lot more accomplished. Your list can include anything that you're passionate about. What do you love to do? What makes you happy? What do you do to free yourself from stress? What do you like to learn about?

-Without this next one I'd have way more freak-outs during the day. If you feel frustrated with the task you're doing or the energy just doesn't feel right, then walk away. You'll get way more done if you get away from it and get the good energy flowing again. Go for a walk. Turn the music up and do a silly dance. If it's a nice day, go stand in the sun. Take some deep breaths and stretch. Then once you feel more centered come back to it. You'll be amazed at how much more clearly you can think. When your mind is clear, that's when the awesome ideas come.

There's a great feeling that comes with getting your to-do list done. You will feel accomplished and that will give you more energy to do whatever else you're aspiring to do. Then before you know it, you'll be a pro! You'll feel excited and you can look back on everything that you've accomplished.

Stay Motivated to Exercise Through Hypnosis

Started a new exercise program with excitement, commitment and with the best intentions? Only to find yourself struggling to motivate yourself to go to the gym? This is the case for many people, who within weeks of beginning an exercise regime find it a chore to go and workout.

We all see them, the fitness fanatics who seem to enjoy working out. Finding pleasure in going to the gym or seeing their personal trainer. So why can't we all be like that? How come I struggle to motivate myself to exercise yet most other people at the gym seem to find joy out of working out?

All of us have lost motivation after the initial buzz of a new workout, new gym, different personal trainer or even diet. There are a number of things we can do to help increase our motivation. Even at a subconscious level. One of the secrets is Hypnosis! I know there is a lot of mystery and misinformation surrounding Hypnosis, but it is one of the most effective techniques at increasing motivation and staying motivated to workout.

Let me explain how it works:

Hypnosis places you in a relaxed trance, where the guard of your logical, conscious mind can be bypassed. Therefore allowing you access to your deep sub-conscious mind, where most thoughts, feelings and beliefs are stored. You can then retrain your mind to think of the positives of exercising, both the long term and short term benefits. The decreased fat percentage, slimmer waist line, better fitting clothing, less risk of diabetes, lower risk of CHD. The list goes on!

You will feel more motivated to exercise. Getting that excited, committed feeling every time you are due to workout. Exercising will no longer be a chore. Your attitude towards exercise will change, which will have a direct knock-on effect on the amount of exercise you do and how frequently you workout. This is where your goals really become reality.

Whether your goal is to lose 15 pounds, run a marathon or even just feel more energetic around the house. Exercise motivation through Hypnosis can help you. Changing the way your sub-conscious thinks and retraining your brain to enjoy exercise just like every other gym fanatic does.

Over time your mind will adapt to these natural changes in your subconscious. As exercise becomes part of your everyday life and you set yourself up for a healthier, more enjoyable future.

4 Simple Tips to Keep Yourself Motivated

With the everyday advances in technology that we now see, more and more people are using this to their advantage and working from home. Whether they be self employed, or work for a company that now allows this, it is becoming a more frequent occurrence.

Working from home has many advantages, but sometimes it can be difficult to stay motivated. Especially with all the outside distractions and no one looking over your shoulder telling you what to do. Following a few simple steps for self motivation can ensure you complete your tasks each day and finish your workload.

So here a few straightforward tips:

Plan Your Day
Write down your tasks for the day in clearly defined bullet points. Keep it short and simple. Since most people schedules differ from day to day this can be hard to do sometimes. Try and do this as much as you can. Prioritise the most important tasks and don't move onto another task before completing the one your are on. If you really have to, write it down on the top of next days list.

State Your Goals At The Start Of The Day
It is important to clearly define your goals for each day. By doing this you can clearly define your overall aim for the day and have something clear to achieve. Not only is defining your goals for each day important but try and write goals for the week and even month. Having realistic goals is the key to self motivation.

Reward Yourself
When you work from home, it can be difficult to get the same type of rewards that regular office jobs receive, such as days off or even bonuses. Sometimes, when being self employed and running your business from home, you will often find that you end up working more hours than a regular 9-5 office job. So it is important to reward yourself, even if it is simply just with going out for a walk each day, going fishing or even to the cinema.

Network with other likeminded people
Working from home can be incredibly isolated sometimes. This can have a knock on effect on your self motivation. Keeping a good network of people and surrounding yourself with motivated people will have a direct effect on your self motivation. In an office environment you are constantly interacting with other employees, where as working from home you do not have this interaction. Keeping a good network of Skype contacts can benefit you greatly. Offering each other advice, tips and sharing work progress.

How to Stay Motivated

You've just come from an amazing, life altering weekend seminar. You've met a ton of new contacts, and you've gained new incredible insights, killer techniques, and dynamic tools to enhance your business practices, improve your lifestyle, skyrocket your finances, master your health, or successfully find the love of your life.

The problem is that while you've been enjoying this life-altering event, you've put your own life on hold so you could absorb all of this incredible information. Now you're wondering how to stay motivated and put all this amazing information to good use?

This is the very same tar-like pit that over eighty percent of people who attend any event fall into; life comes flooding back at you, while you frantically rush to get everything back on track and running smoothly again.

Instantly you're slammed into a fray of tasks, errands, projects, calls, and emails just to get back to how things were before you took the time for this awe-inspiring seminar (book, CD, or program).

Sadly, for the majority of people, this means that the amazing training you just learned needs to be put on hold so you can play "Life" catch-up, and you promise to get to it again soon. No matter how important and vital the seminar is for your growth, it has to wait. So you put it on the shelf promising to get back to it soon.

A year later you see those same program materials glaring at you from the corner of your desk or bookshelf, and every day you promise to give it a few minutes.

Wait a minute! Those materials are the key to changing your life for the better forever, and you're going to "try" to get to it for a "brief" amount of time? What's going on here?

If any of this resonates with you, you're not alone. Over eighty percent of those who attend a truly great seminar experience this exact same problem. Why? Because none of these seminars teach one vital technique to give you that important leverage, how to avoid "Overwhelm".

The first question you might ask is; "How can I get back to real life while also incorporating the great training I've just learned, and are there other people who can successfully integrate both into their busy lives?"

The answer is you can, and yes, others do successfully put them to use. If eighty percent struggle with keeping the focus on this new training and their lives, that leaves twenty percent who can absorb the learning and apply it successfully to their lives.

In fact, the top 1% are masters at this. So it only stands to reason that there's a way for you too to become a master. You might think the key is to become great at multitasking. If so, you'd be wrong. In fact, multitasking is responsible for getting people even more behind and buried deeper in overwhelm.

The key is surprisingly simple. How to stay motivated incorporates two easy to master techniques. Focusing on one task at a time, while seeing it through to completion, and using the power of others to support, drive, and motivate you to completion. Learning how to do this is surprisingly simple. In fact, this is something you could learn to master tomorrow.

Top 7 Ways to Get Yourself Motivated

A man sits slumped in the seat, his right hand hovering over the computer mouse. His laptop lays open before him, a document left unfinished on the center of the screen. As hours tick away, he can feel his last few ounces of motivation seeping out of him, draining his desire to work.

The TV flashes and continues its rhythmic monotone in the next room across the hall. The man glances at the corner of the glittering TV screen visible through the open office door. His mind becomes captivated with thoughts of putting his work aside and joining the couch in front of the TV, where his heavy eyelids can surrender to a nice, long nap.

Is Procrastination Getting in the Way of Your Business?

Do you ever feel like the man above, knowing you must make progress but dreading the work to follow?

Maybe you have a pressing deadline ahead or a product launch coming up. Depending on the project, what you get done can make a huge impact on your career.

Motivation is a crucial element in the success of your business. It can make a difference in how well you work and the results you see in the coming months. Without it, not only will you lose productivity, but you can completely halt progress. Work will become a chore. Obstacles and challenges will become unbearable because you won't have the willpower to keep going.

What if I told you that there is a way to consistently stay motivated day after day, giving you the creative energy to make more progress and achieve your business objectives?

You can tap into an unlimited source of motivation again and again. You just have to know how.

Get Motivated

Finding motivation isn't always easy, but it can be done if you have the patience and discipline to make it happen.

The following are a few ways to get you started.

Define your purpose.Think of your big WHY, or the reason that drives you to do something. Why should you complete that project? Are there consequences of not getting the job done on time? What will you gain once the project is completed? Use these answers to help spur you on. As you work, remember your reason for working and what will happen after you've completed the project at hand.
Set actionable goals. There's no point of working if you don't know how you'll complete the project or even what the end result will look like. Having a plan prevents you from getting confused later on, and you can keep working knowing that you'll achieve something in the long run. Use both short and long-term goals, creating actionable steps for each. When you get stuck, refer to your goals to stay on track. It also helps to set deadlines for each goal and reward yourself after every milestone. You'll then always have an incentive to make progress.
Get your friends and family involved. The more people who know about your goals, the more support you'll receive along the journey. Getting other people involved is also a good way to hold yourself accountable for your goals, increasing the likelihood that you'll see each task until completion.
Keep it stimulating.Change the scenery or find something new to capture your attention. Instead of working in your stuffy office all day, take your laptop outside and enjoy the fresh air. Mixing it up can keep you refreshed and change the way you feel about your workload.
Take occasional breaks.Let's face it: If you work for hours on end, you'll eventually crash. It's hard for your body to keep functioning in an optimal way if you're overworked. Take a small break after every work hour, especially on a long workday.
Don't procrastinate.Complete your goals one step at a time. Don't try to do everything at once or put the work off until the last minute. Doing so will cause a heap of stress, and you risk not meeting crucial deadlines. Separate your work into tasks, and complete each task at a time.
Read or listen to motivational material. The Internet is flooded with case studies, success stories, interviews, podcasts and inspirational articles, with hundreds of motivational books and magazines at your local library. You can also listen to inspiring music during your breaks that will move you to action, like Perpetuum Mobile by the Penguin Cafe Orchestra.

You'll achieve great results as you progress, but know that you aren't alone. Results come with action, so start making things happen.

Staying Motivated in Your Space

I write a lot about motivation because its something I'm always struggling to capture and hang onto myself; and its elusive nature interests me. I've talked about various ways of looking at and trying to capture motivation; and some work better than others at different times in different situations. But the one point that consistently sticks for me is the fact that it really is elusive: in other words, you can't just "get" it.

But you can help it out a bit. And one of the ways to do this, as I've discussed before, is to create a space. This just means having a place in the world that's all yours: a space that's free from the assaults of the outside world, filled only with your interests and personality (although erring on the side of 'minimalist' is probably a good idea to avoid too many distractions).

I've recently revamped my own space a bit to create a sense of newness and change - and I did this because I think we habituate to our surroundings. In other words, when anything is static for too long in our environment it ends up blending into the woodwork and we don't really notice it anymore. But this isn't a great place to be, because our brains respond to novelty.

So it makes sense that revamping your space will, at least temporarily, cause your brain to perk up a bit - hopefully helping with motivation. (I'll have to test it out.)

Another thing to think about is what specifically you can add to your space to have the biggest impact - and something creative like a piece of art is always a good idea. I think it helps sometimes to have reminders around us of just what we are capable of as human beings...

Looking at a beautiful painting or listening to an amazing piece of music, for example, can help remind us that we're all a part of this universe that's continually expanding and creating. We're all a part of this creation, and we're here to create. Being reminded of that has got to help with motivation.

So the point of this article to encourage you to create a space that's just for you, if you haven't got one already. Keep it free from distraction and clutter, and make sure that it's really all about your needs, your personality, and your interests. Shake it up once in awhile to keep it novel and fresh; and introduce things into your space that remind you of your creative purpose and unlimited potential.
